Today I have for you a review of a stamping plate by Moyou nails. They are a London based company that sells unique stamping plates and stamping polishes. The quality of the items is high and the prices are very low. I decided to not only create a review but also include some easy tips on how to get the best stamping manicures possible with the least amount of work.
This is the 402 Filigree stamping plate. It features 11 full nail sized patters. There are old baroque patterns, abstract animal prints and some geometric art. The pattern sizes are 0,5 x 1,5 cm to 1,5 x 2 cm. So they are appropriate for all shapes and sizes.
If you don't want to deal with reverse stamping - which is one of the most impressive looking nail art techniques, try it this way. The trick is to make the base nail art as complicated as possible and use as many colors that match. They will all shine from under the stamp and make the stamp stand out.
At the same time do not forget to keep the base polish and the stamping polish as basic as possible (no glitters or holos). The easiest way to make a nice and delicate looking nail art base is to use some type of water decals or nail stickers. They usually feature detailed art that is abstract enough to serve as a good base. I used some bubble water decals over Essence Wild white ways as base. White nail polish is always a good way to intensify the base.
Since white is always a good color to be a base, the best color to stamp over it black. I also decided on black since it fits the vintage damask pattern I choose on the plate. It is always a good idea to choose a stamping polish that is not featured on the base nail art, since that makes the stamp muddled.
The plate I used was etched like a dream. The picture came off great and stamped no problem. I used a marshmallow stamper that you can also get on Moyou nails web page. Since a pattern such as this doesn't require you to be very careful where the stamp lands.
