TUTORIAL: Cloudy sky nails

This time of Spring is very rainy and cloudy where I am from. The weather makes everything seem so gloomy, and the view from my room always has clouds and birds sitting on electrical wires. So that is what I choose as my inspiration, but I just had to add some glitter to it all - or it would all seem way to sad. And these nails turned out amazing! <3

This is another such manicure that looks very complicated but is very easy to do! You just need to take the time and summon the courage to try it. The way I created this nails is that stamping (I know that is not every ones favorite technique) is optional. So if you don't want to do it just skip the last step.

What you need for this cloudy manicure is a nice but sad looking grey, I used Essie Chinchilly. A good and opaque white, I used Essence Wild white ways. I added some glitter to make the nails a bit more fairy tale like, I used Beauty woman Ice cream ella. You will also need a dotting tool. For the stamps I used Essence stamp me!black and MM14 plate, if you like the more main brand plates the same pattern is also available in the latest Bundle monster collection.

Step 1: Apply the base polish, I recommend a light grey or a periwinkle blue.
Step 2: Apply the glitter polish. Make sure the colors are also mostly pastels or they will crash with the rest of the art.
Step 3: Make 3 bigger dots on the spot where you decided there will be clouds. They don't have to be too close together, just a guideline. But they must be apart from each other or they will all turn into one big cloud which is not the look we are going for.
Step 4: While still using the dotting tool, fill in the blanks in between the ones made before. Make the dots are random as possible and the cloud shapes will form on their own.
Step 5: Add even more such dots, maybe even use a smaller dotting tool to make the smaller parts of the clouds on their edges. But don't forget to look at the other clouds so they don't form one big one.
Step 6: Apply the stamp of the birds on the wire. Also add a lot of top coat since the clouds can turn out a bit bumpy.

This is the close up of the finished nails. I think they look very cool and when you try to reproduce them you see they are very simple to make. All you do is make dots and then add more dots and the cloud formations form on their own :)

40 Great Nail art Ideas challenge: Fashion

Ladies I love fashion! But I have a strange relationship with it. I don't like most of what recent ready to wear style is, I mostly don't like the weird Runway looks and I don't like to wear colors.
But I like all black, a bit goth and dark colored clothes ... therefore that is where I got the inspiration for this look :)

One of my all time favorite fabrics are lace so that is the look I was going for. Add some bows and rhinestones and I feel like I am wearing some sexy lingerie on my nails :)

For this manicure I used Essie Thigh high *see even the polish name is sexy* as base. The stamps are made with Essence Stamp me!black and BP-02 plate. The bows and rhinestones are also from BPS.

BPS Review: Sun shaped studs

Bornpretty store was nice enough to send me these fun gold studs and now it is time to review them. On their page where they feature the Gold nail decoration you can see 5 different studs that always come in gold or silver (mostly sun or star shaped). I choose these gold suns since they remind me of tacky 90ies tattoos :)

In the package you get 2 pieces of the shapes you choose - in my case 2 gold hollow suns. Which is perfect since they are about 4mm in diameter and quite big. So I decided to use them as the main decoration on my accent nail.

I am a firm believer that such big pieces are meant to be a statement part of the manicure - so 2 pieces are plenty. You get them on sale for 2.82 $. When you use them I highly recommend some nail glue or gel base polish to firmly glue them on your nail. They are quite flat so be sure to secure them on your nails if your nails are a bit round like mine.

For this manicure I used Essence Berry-tale as base. The stamps are made with BPS 1 stamping polish and Qgirl 056 stamping plate, that you can both find in their Nail art supplies department.

So head on over to Bornpretty nail art store and get their gold studs that are a classic must have nail art supplies for any nail artist. When you are shopping there don't forget to use the 10% OFF CODE RJL91

40 Great Nail art Ideas challenge: Red + Brush stroke (One piece: Chopper)

Once more the parameters of the challenge fit the fan girl idea I had in my head. Brushstroke is one of my all time favorite techniques and since it is time to make a Chopper manicure the red color is perfect. Once more I love the way this One piece inspired manicure turned out!!! <3

Here you can see Chopper - he is the doctor of the One piece Straw hat pirate crew. And yes he is a small reindeer that can change shape. I like him thou and I must admit from time to time as I remember his prequel story it makes me so sad :( Dear God Eiichiro Oda the author relay knows how to make me cry ...

source: tumblr
The inspiration for this manicure was his Jolly Roger flag, a red doctors cross and a red X cross that represents the Straw hat crew and the cross he wears on his hat. Also I made a kawaii small Chopper on a pink bed of sakura blossoms since a big, sad part of his story are sakura blossoms *don't make me explain it I will cry, just google it*

For this nail art I used hehe 015 and 016 plates to create the 2 decals. The sakura stamps are from MoYou London Comics 5 plate. The white and black polishes used are Essence Stamp me! black and white. The pink stamping polish is Ya Quin An 15. The other polishes I used are Barry M Passion fruit, Essence Hola, guapa!, Desert fox, Catrice Madam Butterfly and Britt chick

One more kawaii gif of him, where you can see him in one of his other forms that he takes on when it is time to fight :)

NOTD: Spring romance nail art

Since I already made a bunch of red themed nails this month I now decided to create something romantic but with a strong spring color in the foreground. Also I wanted to use my white crackle polish since I feel like they are overlooked a lot - thou they are perfect if you want to make some adorable broken heart manicures.

I wanted to create a manicure that features roses and hearts but with an unexpected color combination that still works - and I love how they turned out <3

For this manicure I used China glaze Daisy you know my name as the yellow base. The white is Sinful colors Wisp. The pink for the stamps is BPS 16 stamping polish and the plate is Qgirl 058. The crackle polish is by Essence named Crack me!white. All the studs, the rose and the bow are from BornPretty store.

This NOTD was created for the blogger group Glam-express, it is a great place to find inspiration and amazing beauty works of art for all over the world <3

BPS Review: Black stamping polish

The other day I made a review of Bornpretty store  White stamping polish and now it is time to review their Bornpretty store Black stamping polish which is the other no.1 stamping polish every nail artist needs in their collection.

The polish comes in 15ml bottle (in my case with a slight drunk sticker *LOL*) As all the rest so far this polish is amazing! It is opaque, meaning it covers anything in one coat. The formula is perfect for stamping. It works on all plates I own and with all the stampers I own (and trust me there are a lot).

Because the polish is so easy to work with I would recommend it for anyone who is starting to stock up on their stamping supplies. You get 15ml for 4.79$ which is basically a steal!

A big test for stamping polishes is making decals with them. The black polish picks up perfectly and when it was time to color in the flowers none of the polish dissolved or bleed into the base as it happens sometimes.

For this manicure I used Sinful colors Wisp as base, over it I added Color club Do the twist. The decals are made with BPS 3 stamping polish and Qgirl 048 plate that you can both get from their page. I colored in the flowers with China glaze Violet-vibes, Red-y to rave and Home sweet house music.

Don't forget to visit the Bornpretty store Nail art department to get your own BPS stamping polish if you are a stamping fanatic like me - or any other nail art supply. While you are there don't forget to use the 10% OFF CODE RJL91.

Rawr čokolada z okusom Mentola / Review of Rawr Menthol flavoured chocolate

*this is a Slovene only post so all my international buddies enjoy the delicious pictures*

Sestavine so: kakavovo maslo, kokosov sladkor, lucuma, rožiči, mentolovo olje in vanilija.

Res gurmanska in zdrava poslastica.

TUTORIAL: Cupids arrows nail art

I already created some very cute nail art for this Valentines seasons but now it is time to make a manicure that looks a bit more hip and something even a tough girl would want to wear. The idea was to make nail art full of cupids arrows and I love how it turned out! The black, white & gold combination is perfect and the use of the dark red instead of the traditional bright one makes it seem like something a girl can wear even past the romance season :)

For this manicure you don't need much and it is so simple to make anyone can do it. You need a good white base polish, I used Essence White wild ways. A good dark red polish for the accent nail and the feathers on the arrows, I used Catrice Robert's red Ford. You will also require a good black polish and a thin brush, I used LA Colors Art deco black. Also since I wanted to arrow tips to be hearts I used the gold heart shaped studs I got from BPS.

Step 1: Apply the base polishes.
Step 2: Create the vertical lines that will be the body of the arrows that will be the only ones that are entirely on the nail.
Step 3: Add more lines that will be the arrows that are chopped on the nail. Also make the 1st line that will be the crossed over arrows on the accent nail. When you are making these arrow lines make sure to keep the apart or finishing them will be tricky.
Step 4: Make even more lines and the other line on the accent nail. When adding these extra lines be sure to think ahead. Or just create the nail art one arrow at the time.
Step 5: Add the gold heart shaped studs on where you decide the ends of the arrows are. Also make 4 stripes on each of the accent nail so the arrows get their feathers. Just try to make sure that they are vaguely the same angle and length.
Step 6: Give the other arrows on the white nails some feathers. I decided that 2 lines per arrow are enough or the nails would look too busy. Also I made them in red so they match the accent nail. After this don't forget to add a generous coat of top coat so the little studs don't fall off.

And here they are very simple and a subtle tribal nails for V-day :)

This manicure was made for Glam-express a great place full of inspiration for make up looks for every season :)

40 Great Nail art Ideas challenge: Love + Deadpool

This V-day everything came together! I got too see the movie I love with the man I love featuring the cool guy I love :) So much love I just had to share it!

Here are my I <3 Deadpool nails or anti-Valentines nail art :)

A quick picture of me from yesterday at the premiere, wearing my Deadpool outfit and nails giving off some Inception vibe ;)

Don't judge me but this are my natural nails. I just wanted to give them a bit of time to breathe. For this manicure I used Sinful colors Wisp as base. The blood stamps are made with Mundo de Unas Red and BM416 stamping plate. I also used all those polishes and my Black skull polish to create the little heart with the Deadpool emblem :)

And here you have it a rare glimpse of my both hands :)

The movie was amazing! If you enjoy violence, bad language and romance it is the perfect movie to go see this Valentines day! Trust me your Boyfriend or nerdy gal pal will appreciate it ;)

TUTORIAL: Hearts in a frame nail art

It is that time of the year again when everything smells of romance. Therefore I gave in and created this flirty nail art featuring black and pink, two colors that always look great together. I feel like this turned out great! <3

It maybe seems like these nails are hard to do specially since they feature nail stamping. Don't worry about that part since any stamping pattern can be hand drawn or completely swapped for something more simple like dots or stripes that are very easy to reproduce by anyone :)

For this manicure you need a good neon pink polish, I used China glaze Glow with the flow. You need a strong black that is opaque in one coat. I used the same polish from stamps and the rest of the nail art, polish named Essence Stamp me!black. I choose a Valentines stamping plate my Messy Mansion named MM31. To make the details on the nails use a good striping tape and some heart shaped fimo slices to crown the nails.

Step 1: Apply base polish - make sure it is completely dried by the time you move on to step 2.
Step 2: Apply the striping tape. I added it to the nail in a way that a small little triangular windows can be created. The accent nail has a small cross on it just to look a bit different. But make sure to remember how you applied them because you need to remove them the same way.
Step 3: Apply the nail stamps over the tape. Or free hand draw over them, use the whichever technique you feel more comfortable with.
Step 4: Apply the polish to black out the nails and create a frame that way. But make sure that you don't go over the tape or the lines won't look so crisp anymore.
Step 5: Make sure to remove the tape as soon as possible after adding the black polish, with that you ensure that the polish doesn't dry to fast and make the removal difficult.
Step 6: Time to clean up all the mess we made and apply the little hearts on the spots where the tapes crossed before. Try to choose the type of hearts that will stand out and not blend with the other hearts and colors in the background.

And there you have it! Some fun and flashy nail art to celebrate the most romantic month of the year! <3
